Preventive Care Services

There are two important things to remember about preventive dental care:

  • Scientists now have evidence showing that your oral health and overall health are connected. This means that the problems in your mouth can affect other important parts of your body!
  • It's better to prevent problems before they get more complicated (and expensive). If you come in for regular checkups, we can clean your teeth and look for cavities or more serious problems like cracks or gum disease. We can then treat these problems in their early stages.

The longer you wait to fix a problem, the worse it gets!

We offer the following preventive care services:

Restorative Services

Human teeth are very good at what they’re designed to do. When you have a problem, we try to save as much of your original tooth as possible. For example, if we feel you don't need a full crown we’ll suggest using an inlay instead.

Whatever your needs may be, we use the latest technology to provide you with dental work that’s good-looking, comfortable, fully functional, and long-lasting.

We offer the following restorative services:

Gum Disease

Did you know that...

  • 75% of adult tooth loss is caused by gum disease
  • Approximately 80% of the population has some degree of gum disease
  • Gum disease is an infection of the gums and jawbones caused by the colonization of bacteria underneath the tartar on your teeth
  • Bacteria and the chemical by-products that the body uses to fight these bacteria can enter the blood stream and cause serious problems in distant parts of the body
  • There are often no obvious symptoms of gum disease for a long time
  • Scientists have now linked gum disease to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, pre-mature births, and low birth weight

In addition to causing problems in other parts of your body, unhealthy gums means we can’t repair your teeth or do cosmetic work.

When you come in for your routine checkups, we will carefully examine you for any signs or symptoms of gum disease. This way, we can catch problems early on, and do some non-surgical therapy if needed. If you need surgery, we can refer to the well-known and trusted Dr. Michael Thompson.

Cosmetic Services

Have you ever gone into a hair salon, told the stylist what you really wanted, and then walked out with a haircut that wasn’t at all what you wanted?

We understand that the key to any kind of cosmetic work is good communication. Our process goes something like this: You tell us what you'd like to improve or change and we'll tell you about some different ways to achieve that goal. You then tell us what you think about the choices and, together, we'll come up with a plan to get you that smile you've always wanted.

We offer the following cosmetic services:

  • Non-extraction Orthodontics - choose clear or colored
  • Invisalign Orthodontics - non-conventional braces; visit Invisalign to find out more
  • Tooth Colored Fillings
  • Porcelain Veneers - we use Lumineers by Cerinate (as seen on “Extreme Makeovers”)
We like and use Lumineers because:
    • They are very thin veneers that require only a minimum amount of tooth preparation
    • They require no shots and no painful removal of sensitive tooth structure
    • We can apply them in less time than traditional veneers
For more information about a painless way to reshape and permanently whiten your smile, visit www.cerinate.com
  • Whitening
  • Bonding
  • All Porcelain Crowns, Onlays and Inlays
  • Tooth Recontouring - We can do a lot just by filing and reshaping your teeth

Technology

Dentistry and technology go hand in hand. We applaud new products and technologies but are careful to choose those that provide obvious benefits to our patients. We use our “Big City” technology to make your visits more comfortable and to provide you with teeth that are healthy and beautiful.

We utilize the following innovations:

  • DIAGNOdent - a painless laser technology that quickly and precisely identifies tooth decay
  • Digital radiography - these are faster x-rays that result in up to 90% less exposure to radiation
  • Intra oral cameras - allow us to show you the problem as we diagnose it and then show you the solution once we've completed the procedure
  • Chairside computers - you can view digital imaging, or the intra oral camera work, without leaving the chair
  • Patient Education System (Caesy) - helpful information about a variety
    of important topics

Patient Comfort

We know some of you don't exactly look forward to coming to our office so we've created a “Small Town” atmosphere to put you right at ease. As you sit back in the exam chair and look up, you’ll gaze at beautiful murals of the sky instead of those ugly ceiling tiles. And we’ve got TVs and DVD players in every room so…just relax, put your feet up, and we’ll take care of the rest.

These are some of the comfort measures we offer:

  • Sedation Dentistry - oral sedation
  • Nitrous
  • Patient Comfort Measures - TVs, DVD players, blankets, soothing warm towels
  • Sterilization Center
